This weekend my sister married a wonderful guy in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by those who love them. The minister delivered a wonderful message, my girls made it down the aisle without a tear, the cake was delicious, and it was great to see so many of our family and friends. After the happy couple left in their 1950’s car, the reception was cleaned up and the last hugs were given, we headed home with tired feet and two sleepy girls.
As fun and exhausting as the day was, it was the two sentences in my six year old’s bedtime prayer that gave the entire day an even deeper meaning.
Dear God,
Thank you for coming to my aunt and uncle’s wedding today.
And I pray that you give them anything they need…
