We are spending the month of April learning all about metamorphosis with our studies focusing on butterflies, ladybugs, and frogs. This week was all about the butterfly. Hannah learned all about the butterfly life cycle, learned what metamorphosis means, and lots of other cool facts about butterflies.
We finished our week with a trip to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens with our homeschool group. This spring, they featured hundreds of butterflies in their glass Conservatory. We saw Monarchs, Blue Morphos, Paper Kites, Great Mormons, as well as many other kinds.
Hannah put together this project to show just a few of the facts she learned this week about butterflies. She made each of the stages of the life cycle with Model Magic and then painted it once it was dried. We learned about a new art medium, pastels, as she used them to blend colors together to make the Monarch Butterfly.
Hannah did everything but cover the board (for the sake of time) and glue on the Model Magic pieces (we had to use hot glue). I think she did a fantastic job on her project!
