I really don’t know what happened to the summer. At the beginning of June, my sister got married and it has been a whirlwind ever since. I can’t believe August starts next week and we start our second year of homeschool on Monday! Here are a handful of pictures from our summer.
Our children’s minister at our church organizes a weekly get-together each week called Terrific Tuesday during the summer. It is at a different place each week. We haven’t been to as many as we would have liked, but have had fun at the ones we did go to. This was at an awesome park that we had never been to before!
We transitioned Olivia to a toddler bed this summer, which means that she also gave up her afternoon nap. She does fine most days but will fall asleep in the car if we head somewhere in the late afternoon/ early evening. I’ll share pictures of her big girl room soon!
These three girls and I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University just over ten years ago and we have tried to get together for a few days each summer ever since. Sometimes new babies prevented the reunion, but I love that no matter how long it has been since we were together, we always pick up right where we left off. I love these girls!
Chet and Hannah have had a weekly movie date this summer thanks to the Summer Movie Program fundraiser offered by Olivia’s preschool. Olivia doesn’t do well with movies/ TV Shows other than Mickey, Doc McStuffins, and Frozen so we decided to sit this summer out which means lots of one on one time with this sweet girl!
We went on a cruise last week with my parents and we decided to fly so Chet would only have to take one Sunday off. Olivia talked about flying on an airplane and going on Mickey’s boat (Disney Cruise Line) for months! She was so excited when the day arrived!
We always try to arrive as close to the cruise terminal as possible the day before it is set to sail away in order to not worry about missed connections or flight delays. We stayed at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport. That airport is one of our favorites. Outside of security is anything a kid (or grown-up) would want to kill time. Two Disney Stores, two Universal stores, two Sea World stores, a Nasa store, plenty of shops for Mom and Dad and plenty of places to eat.
Back at home, we celebrated National Ice Cream day at TCBY. Yes, it is frozen yogurt but that is close enough!
As much trouble as he is to find a place for him to stay when we travel, these girls sure do love this puppy! We had just picked him up from the boarder after our trip and I am not sure who was more excited… the girls or Pluto!
