We listen to many types of music in our home and car with worship music being played most often. Everything from the hymns we grew up with to the group, Acappella, to today’s artists like Chris Tomlin and Casting Crowns rotate through our playlist. There are several that are favorites and get played more often than others. One of those songs is Forever Reign. It is one that we sing at church and is an extremely powerful, uplifting song. It is one that I turn to when I am feeling overwhelmed, lost, or upset.

Oh, I’m running to Your arms,
I’m running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

You are more, You are more
Than my words will ever say
You are Lord, You are Lord
All creation will proclaim
You are here, You are here
In Your presence I’m made whole
You are God, You are God
Of all else I’m letting go

This song was on in the car this last week, and it came to the part where it repeats, “My heart will sing,┬áno other Name,┬áJesus, Jesus…” From the back, came a tiny voice singing, “Jesus, Jesus.” Olivia had picked up on the simple words and melody.

Of course, we just melted. No, she doesn’t completely grasp what she is singing, but it is my prayer that she and Hannah always have a heart for worshiping the Father. Hannah loves to sing and has shown some early promise for talent, and I pray that she uses her talent for the Lord. Worship songs have always had a special place in my heart, but they mean that much more when two little voices from the backseat sing along.
