I love seeing all of the different styles of gallery walls that float around Pinterest and the internet. They are a fun way to add some color and character to a room and can really tell a family’s story.

We’ve had a small gallery wall of family photos for a couple of years now (I forgot to take the before picture!). I liked it when I first put it up, but it didn’t really go with the style of our home anymore. The pictures were also outdated since they were a mix of family pictures from when I was six months pregnant with Olivia and her newborn shoot two weeks after she was born. Since she is almost two, I decided it was time for a change.

Most of the frames were ones that I had already. I bought the four big document frames to add some fun prints and to showcase the girls’ art and school work. Everything got a coat of white paint to unify the arrangement. I love how the white frames really make everything pop! I plan to update the girls’ art work as they make new ones as well as the prints to go with the season. {I found the 1 Corinthians 13 print here and the “Love you” print here.}

Since we haven’t had any new pictures made as a family other than on our Disney trips, I decided to just pull some favorite vacation photos. I had the four 8×10 prints on the white background from our cruise through the Panama Canal last May. The smaller photos are my favorite pictures of the girls from various trips during the last fifteen months. It is also a fun way to show our Disney Side!

I love displaying the girls’ art projects but I also love a clean fridge. By adding their art to the gallery, I get both. Hannah just beamed when she saw her rainbow displayed! Olivia is following right in her sister’s footsteps. She loves to paint and color, too! The little Mickey’s in the top, center frame are punched out from her painting that she did one day.

I am in the process of making our house feel “lighter.” That mostly just means lighter colors and less stuff. My plan is to paint this wall later this spring/ summer. It is going to be a big job since it is part of our great wall and the walls don’t ever end. There are no corners or edges not even on the ceiling which I kind of like except when it is time to paint!
