It is freezing here today and we woke up to a light dusting of snow. It wasn’t enough to cancel school, but I decided to keep Olivia home from preschool. The real feel temperature was -1 this morning! None of really needed to be out in this weather since both girls and Chet had the stomach bug this week and Chet is recovering from an ear infection. (It has been a long, crazy week!)
I went outside and filled a large tub with snow. It is the perfect kind of snow for playing in and to make a snowman. The girls have had a blast playing in the snow and I love that I can sit here on my computer in the warm house while they play.
We even added some math to the fun! Today was our intro to measurement with cups. Instead of using water like the lesson called for, we used snow! I also filled the tub with different kinds of measuring cups and spoons to play with. It has also been a great reinforcement to our solids and liquids lesson from last week. Definitely a fun sensory tub!
Very clever!!!!
What a great idea!! Hope everyone is on the mend now. Preschool ended up dismissing early, so just as well everyone stayed home!
